There will always be a need for elementary teachers. It is important for children to begin learning at a young age so that they will have the opportunity to develop into educated individuals with an appetite for learning. As the population increases, driving up the number of students flowing into every classroom, the need for elementary teachers to take charge of the new students is evident. Job prospects for elementary teachers (excluding those employed as special education teachers) are expected to grow 15 percent during the 2008-18 decade, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. In addition to a growing job market, elementary school teachers also have the hugely rewarding personal satisfaction of watching their students grow and learn.
